Client Case Study
Bringing Hardy Amies to Life
CLIENT : Bringing Hardy Amies to Life
PROJECT: Prestigious Savile Row Showcase -
URL: http://www.hardyamies.com
Brief
We were asked to build a multi-language, cutting edge website for this leading London fashion house. Hardy Amies had a design in mind which involved a lot of animation and video content, they also required that they could administer the content themselves, in multiple languages. The Hardy Amies brand was to be re-launched at London Fashion Week, and the website needed to reflect something very new, fashionable and eye catching. The inclusion of animation would be particularly challenging for new technology platforms such as the iPad.
Solution
After first seeing the stunning designs for Hardy Amies most peoples initial thoughts would be to use Flash platform. This was not really an option for us due to the brief being very specific about wanting the site to work across multiple platforms, including the latest SmartPhone and Tablet machines (most of which don't support Flash).
We therefore made the decision to base the site on the latest in web technology available to us. Utilising HTML5, CSS3 and rather a lot of jQuery we achieved more than Flash could.
Underneath the site runs on the ExpressionEngine CMS, this allows Hardy Amies staff to update and add content easily and regularly to the website. By focussing the best brains at Orionesque we met our launch deadline in time for London Fashion Week and are now working on further development.
These later stages include the addition of Japanese, Korean and Chinese translations as well as expansion of content on the site.
New collections, archive material, press coverage and social media are all set to develop rapidly following the re-branding of Hardy Amies. We have found an excellent partner in this client, taking advice, listening to ideas and enthusiastically contributing to the development of their website as part of a worldwide marketing exercise.
